Submission Guidelines

Length
Article submissions should be 3,000 - 4,000 words in length (excluding footnotes). Shorter reflective pieces will also be considered for publication, along with 1,000 - 1,500-word theatre or book reviews.

Language and spelling
Article submissions should be written using British English.

Referencing style 
The Shakespeare Institute Review uses the MHRA referencing style. The full MHRA style guide can be found here.
 
Font and formatting
Articles should be submitted with the following font styles and sizes: 
- Times New Roman
- Body: 12 pt
- Title: 14 pt (bold)
- Footnotes: 10 pt

Articles should be formatted as follows:
- Title: bold, justified left
- Text: justified on both sides (incl. footnotes)
- Block quotes: indented
- Paragraphs: not indented, with spaces in between 
- Page numbers: bottom centre
- File format: Word document
- Anonymity: please include your name and affiliation in the body of the email in which you submit your article, and do not include this information in the article document
